There’s a common confusion between these two plants associated with Christmas. I’m a loner, not superstitious and I don’t do the “kiss under mistletoe” thing, but the confusion is cleared up with a quick Google search.
Mistletoe has WHITE berries and SMOOTH leaves. This is the plant to kiss under.
Holly has RED berries and POINTY leaves.
Also, I don’t know if anyone here is familiar with the Asterix franchise, but mistletoe is one of the ingredients of the super-strength potion.
The reason I bring this up is because I noticed a few pictures here confusing these plants as well.

Pinterest is a nice website if you’re an artist and looking for inspiration, but if you’re looking for art hoping to see the artist and/or source, it’s an embodiment of art theft. There’s so much good art linking to this godforsaken site with no source links or artist credit. And no, reverse image search doesn’t always work, making it so that a lot of quality art remains uncredited for indefinite periods of time.

The category with tags like pokemon, paw patrol, undertale, the lion king, my little pony, etc… I tried searching on the Tags page with category:franchise, category:series, category:copyright, category:origin (which I found is the purple category mainly for artist and director tags), and I ran out of ideas.

I have been wondering for a while but was hesitant to ask: do we really need tags describing the color of a character’s skin/fur/scales/feathers specifically, when we judge their main color regardless of what they’re covered in? I think they’re excessive, sometimes you can’t even see fur/scale/feather details due to simplification and these tags only apply because they fit the species, and I only use “color body” when I can determine it.

Getting serious, again.
I was close to submitting a drawing when I noticed none of the user’s profiles listed on E621 were alive. I decided to look them up and found a callout post with proof of them being openly transphobic, going as far as saying that transphobia isn’t real and making suicide jokes involving specifically trans characters. To add insult to injury, they allegedly HAD BEEN friends with trans people before.
I felt a bad taste in my mouth and decided not to post it.
I also know that Shadman drew R34 of yоung characters, but they say his art also involved REAL minоrs, which is inexcusable.
I don’t know how you treat art made by such kinds of people, personally I don’t wanna knowingly post art made by sociopaths, pеdo/zооphiles and bigots.
. . .
Now that I think about it, the mindset I displayed may be counterproductive from the POV of a site that aims to archive art. You never know if someone potentially becomes (or gets outed for past actions finally revealed) an awful person. The actual drawing I considered posting wouldn’t break any rules here. I can suppress my personal (albeit justified) dislike for an artist and share their work regardless, but I would like to hear some thoughts on this.

Shows and Movies » FNAF character confusion » Topic Opener

I know the category is called Shows and Movies, but it feels odd to separate video games, it’s still media discussion. Also there’s an official FNaF movie now, though I haven’t seen it.
. . .
The games have shown several different versions of Freddy, Chica, Bonnie and Foxy, and most versions are distinct enough. But then there are the withered animatronics (FNaF2), which are just older, broken versions of the classic animatronics (FNaF1), which makes me question if they would need their own tags if they were to appear here. Although I imagine the chances are pretty low, especially with Withered Bonnie, they tore his face off.
Also, while looking through FNAF fanart, I realised Mangle/Toy Foxy (FNaF2) and Funtime Foxy (Sister Location) may be impossible to distinguish when drawn as organic foxes instead of animatronics if there’s not enough context, because they’re both white with pink countershading, yellow eyes and a red bowtie. It also doesn’t help that the FNaF World version of Funtime Foxy looks more like a “fixed” Mangle/Toy Foxy than Funtime Foxy’s actual design (which has plated casing, a loudspeaker in the chest and no hook hand).
There’s also discourse on whether Golden Freddy and Fredbear should be considered the same character, but it seems to have to do with lore and I sadly don’t care enough to research that (especially with the official books, I’m not the reading type). Maybe I should just avoid posting art related to him/them so I don’t have to think about it.
Springtrap and Spring Bonnie are a much simpler case. Spring Bonnie is a yellow rabbit springlock suit animatronic, it could perform on its own like a robot, but it could also be worn as a suit by an adult man, but it was hazardous. Springtrap is an undead entity: a decayed Spring Bonnie that one day malfunctioned and impaled the serial murderer William Afthon who was wearing it, his corpse is still inside and his soul is possessing the animatronic. While playing YT videos discussing FNaF lore in the background, I heard something about William wanting to be immortal. Well, I suppose he got what he wanted?

Since I used the report function a couple of times before, I noticed the reasons for reporting are not changed from default. Most of them seem applicable, but a couple need to be changed:
Rule #3: Image not MLP-related/obligatory pony - This isn’t an MLP Booru. Can be replaced with “Unrelated content”.
Rule #5: Underage+human/anthro-looking porn - This literally goes against the point of this site. Can be replaced with “Illegal/forbidden content”.
The following things are minor, but it feels odd to see “Background Pony” still being used for guests, pony silhouettes as placeholder avatars and “Neigh!” for downvotes.

I could’ve sworn when I shared some works that were intended to be adoptables (designs that other people can buy to use themselves), I tagged them with “adoptable”, but now I can’t seem to find it. It’s not aliased to “invalid tag” either. Derpibooru and Furbooru allow the use of this tag.
Is it regarded as useless here and I should never use it again?

According to this page SVGs are supported here. However when I tried to submit one, I got the following error:
Image contents corrupt, not recognized, or dimensions are too large to process
Image can't be blank
Image size can't be blank
Image width can't be blank
Image height can't be blank
Image mime type (text/plain) is invalid

I don’t really use SVGs, so what could the problem be? For context, it’s a file I made myself (I made a drawing in Animate and used the legacy export because I couldn’t find this format anywhere else in the program).

While I agree with Pup’s stance that characters being merely pictured or cosplayed as should not be tagged the same (e.g. this image should not just be tagged “Toothless”), I think it should be possible to search for some of it somehow in connection with HTTYD, so here’s my idea:
We split this stuff in a parallel tag. So there’s, say, a “digimon” tag and a separate “digimon fandom” tag. Anything indirect is tagged as, say “Miles prowers body pillow”, “kumamon cosplay”, “Toothless hoodie”, “101 dalmatians shirt” etc. and all of these feeds into the relevant parallel copyright tags (or possibly even a separate tag category, depending on what Pup decides).
So if you search for just “toothless”, you find only pics with the character toothless present and posing/interacting. But “toothless*” would find “secondary” presences, like someone drawing an image of toothless, wearing a cosplay of him, a poster of him of the wall etc.
This is a proposal, but I think it’s worth considering while we still have a relatively restrained amount of content.

General Discussion » Chibis » Topic Opener

Stinkek

200% confused
I’m just a regular user, but recently I started wondering: is chibi art really relevant to this site?
“Chibi” is just a way of drawing a character where you give them a bigger head, simplified features and overall cuter look. It has no connection to age at all: you can take an unambiguously adult character, like a male with muscles and facial hair or female with prominent breasts and thighs, and you can draw them as a chibi while still making it clear they’re NOT underage.
“Chibi” is the official style of the Littlest Pet Shop franchise. Most characters are technically NOT cubs, they’re just drawn in a cutesy way that may make them appear young. There also were multiple animated series (I can name 4) with some variety in art style, but we can ignore the LPS show from 1995 because the main cast of pets are obviously neither chibi nor cubs, they’re just miniature like a toy / figurine you’d put on your shelf.
I guess “chibi” is also the official style of Happy Tree Friends (with Lumpy being an exception), and the characters, while being anthro, aren’t depicted with any physical traits that would indicate adulthood. However, most characters here are also NOT cubs, as evidenced by Pop (father) and an actual cub named… Cub (his son). Although if I were to draw style-accurate NSFW art of them, I probably wouldn’t risk posting it to a normie website, they might just equate it to CSAM, and I don’t wanna go through this shit again. I don’t even like this franchise, I just want to contribute something that has little to no presence here.
G3.5 and Pony Life (sometimes called “G4.5” by fans) may be considered the “chibi” approaches to My Little Pony. Both have this “bobblehead” look to them. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo in G3.5 are canonically younger than the rest of Core 7. G3.5 also includes baby depictions of the Core 7, but most people don’t like that, even I find the toys and some cartoon expressions to be unintentionally creepy.
With the overall theming of this site, I assume chibis MAY be relevant if they don’t have adult features, or they fall under “femboy” or “babyfur”. Does it mean things like this are not relevant? This is obviously a chibi, but she has boobs, which goes against the “cub” theme, and she doesn’t fit any other criteria.
To be completely honest, I’m indifferent to loli, shota and cubs. What I’m NOT indifferent to is how people think it’s normal to accuse you of something severe with no proof, the shitty formatting of Fediverse, the censorship of Pixiv and other Japanese sites, the “no human porn” rule of Inkbunny, the “no human lolisho” on E621, the “no NSFW of young-looking characters” rule on E6AI… The fate of human art here is uncertain, I’m considering All the Fallen… If only their site was working properly and not blocking itself half the time I try to visit! I also presume booru.foalcon.com is dead because I haven’t been able to access it, there’s always something wrong on THEIR end, not mine.

I read the following in the rules:
Can I add any tag I want to images?
No. Tags must accurately reflect the image. Adding random, nonsensical, or irrelevant tags to an image, as well as removing valid tags from an image, is considered tag vandalism and if done intentionally will result in a ban even if it’s your own upload. You will get a warning before action is taken depending on the circumstances.
A furry-focused site is bound to have fictional species that are user-made, so I think any such species should be tagged simply “fictional species” and not by their own names which… could be seen as falling into that description? Do you only allow names for well-known species, e.g. protogens and dutch angel dragons (I had to look up the others, though some felt familiar)? I will clean up my own uploads if needed!

This isn’t considered spam, right? I haven’t found anything about it in the rules.
Most of the sites listed here are for MLP content, but there are varying degrees of overlapping in what they and this Booru allow.
I heard of an MLP Booru called Rainbooru which apparently has its own engine, but it’s down, I never got to see it, I can’t even find any screenshots besides a couple posted on Facebook (which is blocked in my country and I can’t register on it without revealing my identity).
booru.foalcon.com hosts humanised young MLP characters. I can’t remember if it has anthros and I can’t visit it because it’s having issues at the time (I HOPE it’s not dead). I used to be able to see it, but only with a VPN. It’s based on the Szurubooru engine, which I don’t know much about, and I only know 2 Boorus based on it: this one and a demo one.
Twibooru is one of those Boorus that are very similar to Derpibooru, but its Cloudflare now blocks me regardless if I use a VPN or not. IIRC it’s less restrictive than Derpi, allowing lolisho.
Baraag and Aethy are instances in Fediverse that are similar in how they both allow young NSFW art, whether it’s furry or human, but they’re uncomfortable to view because of the claustrophobic X-like format. I think reposting their content here would make it a lot more comfortable to browse it.

Upd: when I think about it, I’m not sure I understand how major tags like “boy”, “cub”, etc. are meant to be used here, when considering the character’s species, physical appearance, anthropomorphism level and canonical age (last part mainly concerns copyrighted characters) @_@

I noticed “pokemon” and “pokemon (species)” are aliased, however this means that human-only pictures fall under the aliased tag if there’s a human from the Pokemon series and no actual Pokemon… does that make sense?
Edit: I can’t remember if what I said was true, or these tags are now separate?

When I fetch an artwork from E621/Derpibooru and there’s at least one source link, I check them all, and if I find a dead source (removed by the artist, removed due to changes in what is or isn’t allowed, etc.), I remove it when posting it here.
But one time I ran into this situation. There was a picture on this site showing a few young characters, most of them were humans and one was a furry with VERY humanoid proportions (I mistook them for a kemonomimi at first). I checked the source links, and one of them led to a page on E621, which had only the tags and comments, but not the actual picture which had been removed as they no longer allow NSFW content with young humans. What should we do? Remove the link, or tag “dead source”?

I discovered this site after someone told me about it on Inkbunny. I already knew about several Philomena based Boorus (all except Furbooru were for MLP though), and I did a bit of tagging on Derpibooru, so I already had partial idea on how to use this site, but I’m still trying to grasp the age rating criterias (sorry if I said something silly in a report). Out of different Booru formats I’ve seen, I think Philomena is the best, but I don’t have either website making knowledge or stable income. There was a point where I hosted a couple of Boorus on booru.plus, but it’s gone without a trace and I never had a chance to make a Booru for free again. I’ve seen a few Boorus that were shut down and one seemingly abandoned by its only dev.
I know this site is new, but I think it has potential, and it has advantages over other platforms. What issues I have with those:
  • Pixiv: genitals and penetrations must be censored, linking to uncensored content is not allowed (guess how I got suspended there…)
  • Inkbunny: human porn is not allowed (if you completely censor the human sensitive body parts/penetrations it seems to pass)
  • Baraag, Aethy: they are lenient, but very uncomfortable to use if you look for art, the format is not finetuned for image browsing; Media pages on Baraag are basically walls of spoilers (I understand why it’s like this, but without an account it’s just annoying)
  • X: bad format like Baraag and Aethy, not lolisho/cub friendly (I may or may not have had my original account on there suspended because I didn’t think a short slender cartoon man would be considered shota… or maybe I wrestled with a VPN for way too long, I don’t know to this day)
  • DeviantArt: porn is not allowed
  • FurAffinity: lolisho/cub is not allowed
  • Tumblr: porn is not allowed, the users tend to be puritan and of the “fiction = reality” mindset
  • Rule 34 XXX, Rule 34 Paheal: lolisho is not allowed (cubs are ok)
  • Danbooru: doesn’t prohibit but apparently has a higher chance of removing extreme kink and explicit furry content
  • E621: human-only is not allowed (except for pages from furry-centric comics), lolisho is not allowed (cub seems okay?)
It feels quiet here, it would be nice to have more users, whether they draw or just share others’ art.

Today I tried fetching some art from Pixiv, but it didn’t work despite it’s written that it should, so I had to save it to my PC and upload it from there.
I also found an animation I thought I’d repost, but Pixiv doesn’t provide any means to download animations. When I try to save it via right mouse click like I do with static images, it just… becomes static. I found some Chrome extension (I normally use Firefox), which allows to save GIFs and WEBMs, and it works, but I ran into another problem. While in Firefox the animation looks fine, in Chrome it’s too dark, and it remains like this even when I save it to my PC. I looked through the artist’s gallery and it was the only animation affected by this glitch.

What weird “self-limits” or hang-ups do you have on uploading or tagging? for my part…
  • I don’t like tagging for an OC just once. I’d rather upload at least two images with that character (on here, I apply this only to the cub characters, I still tag the adult properly even if I only use the tag once)
  • I almost never upload multiple variants for an image. If an image has a bunch of variants (e.g. cum/no cum/nude/with inset/with internal…) and I just tag with “alternate version” (maybe I should be stricter and use “alternate version at source” though…)
  • due to Philomena’s lacking the Danbooru panrent/child system, if there are two directly related images, I’d rather do a quick ’n dirty edit to combine them (e.g.) than bother with clunky internal linking

Stuff like that is also not welcome to e6ai.net (or at least it will get downvoted and unapproved quickly). Inkbunny has their own different kind of strict and limiting rules regarding AI artwork. So places to upload marginal/kinky AI may be getting thin.
What about cutepa.ws, are more AI artists and content welcome here? I’m asking, because this site has mostly traditional art uploaded. I haven’t advertised this site to any AI directors, yet. Personally, I’m ok with keeping traditional and AI generated art in completely separate websites/galleries. At some point, all tags that amount to “partially clothed” were aggressively aliased to “nudity”, making that tag rather less useful, as a lot of characters where no genitals at all are visible ended up in it. On the other hand, all clothes are currently aliased to “clothed”, which may prove to be a problem. What should count as nudity? Here’s a VERY tentative proposal. Pup obviously has final decision!
First: I’m assuming pup is not a fan of “partially clothed”, so this entire discussion assumes an equivalent will not be created

Nudity

Includes:
  • complete nudity
  • Full frontal nudity
    • Tentatively defined as “the genitals are fully exposed, as well as breasts if present, in front view” (e.g. >>4882)
  • Full exposure of the torso, from neck to upper-thighs
    • not nudity of the torso, because I think some transparent/ineffective clothing qualify as nude: >>789
    • for the most part this is equivalent to e621’s “mostly nude”
  • Any outfit that fully exposes the upper chest, genitals and anus
Whatever definition of “nude” is decided, it would be applied to nude/clothed pairs like “clothed man/nude cub” (if such tags are used)
Aliased (possibly restored): mostly nude
Not aliased: bottomless, topless
Not implied: skimpy
Question: Should bottomless and topless imply “nudity”?
Question: Should “Full frontal nudity” and “mostly nude” be tags at all?
Question: Should there be a tag for characters whose nudity is not merely casual but normal, like digimon and pokemon?
#Clothed
Personally, I would alias or imply all tags about partial nudity to “clothed”, not “nudity”.
However, unless we expect future users to know about “discarded *” tags, I believe clothing item tags should not alias to “clothed”.
Implied by: Skimpy, bottomless, topless, mostly nude (if restored), undressing
Question: Should partial nudity tags other than “mostly nude” alias to “clothed” or to something like “invalid tag”?

5 years ago, Reddit worked just fine as a website & forum.
Today, it is a buggy mess that spits out errors every time you try to do something.
Maybe that isn’t the case on Mobile – but I use the Browser Mode on PC.
Something as simple as trying to upvote a comment takes multiple page refreshes just to get that upvote to “stick” – otherwise it just gives you some annoying error code. Trying to make a post or a comment is a gamble of “will it or won’t it EAT my post or comment.” So I have made a habit of making sure to copy paste whatever I am writing into an open TXT file just on the off chance that Reddit simply eats whatever I was trying to write.
Even aside from the incredibly buggy broken nature of this website – this place loves Censorship almost as much as Twitter and Facebook do. Blue Sky falls shortly behind, but I am sure they will catch up eventually…
Simply writing a post or a comment on this website is an exercise in Self Censorship and walking between egg shells and trying to dodge rain drops.
Individual Mods of subreddits aren’t too bad, usually. But the Auto Mod bot A.I. thing gets offended at the most trivial things. This is what happens when you let an Artificial Intelligence do all the Mod Work on a big website. Everything is completely topsy-turvy around here….. (I am talking about Reddit).
People who SHOULD get banned for things such as targeted harassment – Get Away Scott Free.
People who DID NOTHING WRONG get punished for the most arbitrary and nonsensical reasons.
If you don’t go over your own posts and comments with a fine tooth comb, you run the risk of being a target – either for incredibly angry Users – or the Auto Mod Bot.
You better make DAMN SURE that you craft your words in the most Censored way possible. Bleep your Bloops, change your phrasing, and never write anything on here that COULD be misinterpreted.
And someone absolutely WILL misunderstand you. That is a guarantee.
.
Also let’s talk about a little phenomenon called “Targeted Flagging / Mass Reporting.”
EXAMPLE: A person writes something that technically isn’t even offensive or mean or rude, but someone doesn’t like the message, someone disagrees with what that person is saying – so what do they do? They Mass Flag that person until there are so many “Report Tickets” that the Auto Mod Bot just zaps them into oblivion, regardless of whether or not they actually did anything that broke ToS.
Personally, I happen to think that is a very FLAWED system.
Individual Users should be measured and treated by whether or not what they did or said or wrote was actually breaking ToS – not because you disagree with them and their positions on a particular subject.
I can say “Cartoon Drawings Are Not Real” and SOMEONE on this here website (Reddit) will disagree with that concept and the next thing you know, I got a million angry messages in my inbox or my DM’s and I’ve got tons of downvotes and the Auto Mod wants to zap me with a Cattle Prod.
Not because what I said is wrong or because it broke Reddit ToS – but because someone DISAGREED with it.
Reddit also really doesn’t like it when you CRITICIZE Reddit.
Just like how Twitter really doesn’t like it when you criticize Twitter.
That is not what I would call “Free Speech” – I call that intense limitation of discussion.
LiveJournal and Myspace were more free than that. And those are ancient.
Now… after all this you’re likely going to say – “Okay, well why even use Reddit then?”
Because despite its total bugginess and all the drama and in-fighting among the groups, I do like some of the COMMUNITIES on here. Reddit kinda sorta lets you find “your people” – and it let’s you discuss the things you like AS A COHESIVE COMMUNITY, sorta like what Livejournal and Myspace would let you do. The only problem with that is – you get a lot of cross over (cross contamination?) between different factions.
You get Normies fighting the Furries.
You get so and so group targeting such and such group.
You get “Hate Subs” sprouting up and they decide they’re going to go “Raid” x-y-z group because they wanna cause trouble and make a loud ruckus.
That is not a community, that’s CHAOS.
If you want CHAOS, I would suggest maybe going back to 4chan.
Reddit used to be ORDERLY and it USED TO work as a website.
I miss individual forums with a specific purpose and a specific audience.
But that time is long gone. The internet will never be like that again.
“Social Media” is now the dominant way people interact online.
