It’s quiet here for now, but Rule #4 is one of the most frequently broken rules on Derpibooru from my observation.
Filters are great, but they only work when the content is tagged properly, and I’ve seen some AI-generated imagery not tagged as AI. Most artists are strongly against AI for a good reason and this matter should be taken more seriously.

FurAffinity, E621 and the like are already a thing for general furry art, and sites that try to appeal to broad audiences tend to push “taboo” stuff away.

Honestly, I agree that most notably cub/chibi/child/boy/girl/shota/loli tagset basically is completely redundant to each others in practical use (like, “child” is aliased to “young”, so I can’t even use adult/cub to mean “cub-as-defined-here” because there’s also a completely different set of tags for man/boy etc.), but I’m reliant on Pup for any final decision on how to do tags and that’s what I gotta go with (e.g. his hardline stance that pokemon and digimon should absolutely not be tagged with any general species tags). I do wish he’s take the time to try and clarify what the general tagging policy is (my rule of thumb has been “tag what’s central, respect formal lore, be general otherwise, don’t cross-pollinate between tags”)

I’ve just run into a limit on how many tag edits I can make. I didn’t know this was a thing and I don’t know when I can change tags again. I assume this limit is a way to reduce tag vandalism. Most of my recent tag editing was adding “ai generated” to robotsmademedoit’s images.
Soon after I thought kemonomimis needed to be tagged “not furry” (more than half of them are already tagged), but due to the limit I can’t do so at the time.

Is this thread still in use?
I noticed some tags related to colouration are not retained, though I saw some older uploads having them. It caught me off guard. Are they not allowed because they’re considered redundant here?
On Furbooru I found the tag invalid tag, which gets “undesirable” tags aliased to it, usually ones that are useless, redundant or derogatory.
I do agree E621’s tags are overly complicated. Just reading what’s been copied when fetching gives me a headache.

I discovered this site after someone told me about it on Inkbunny. I already knew about several Philomena based Boorus (all except Furbooru were for MLP though), and I did a bit of tagging on Derpibooru, so I already had partial idea on how to use this site, but I’m still trying to grasp the age rating criterias (sorry if I said something silly in a report). Out of different Booru formats I’ve seen, I think Philomena is the best, but I don’t have either website making knowledge or stable income. There was a point where I hosted a couple of Boorus on booru.plus, but it’s gone without a trace and I never had a chance to make a Booru for free again. I’ve seen a few Boorus that were shut down and one seemingly abandoned by its only dev.
I know this site is new, but I think it has potential, and it has advantages over other platforms. What issues I have with those:
  • Pixiv: genitals and penetrations must be censored, linking to uncensored content is not allowed (guess how I got suspended there…)
  • Inkbunny: human porn is not allowed (if you completely censor the human sensitive body parts/penetrations it seems to pass)
  • Baraag, Aethy: they are lenient, but very uncomfortable to use if you look for art, the format is not finetuned for image browsing; Media pages on Baraag are basically walls of spoilers (I understand why it’s like this, but without an account it’s just annoying)
  • X: bad format like Baraag and Aethy, not lolisho/cub friendly (I may or may not have had my original account on there suspended because I didn’t think a short slender cartoon man would be considered shota… or maybe I wrestled with a VPN for way too long, I don’t know to this day)
  • DeviantArt: porn is not allowed
  • FurAffinity: lolisho/cub is not allowed
  • Tumblr: porn is not allowed, the users tend to be puritan and of the “fiction = reality” mindset
  • Rule 34 XXX, Rule 34 Paheal: lolisho is not allowed (cubs are ok)
  • Danbooru: doesn’t prohibit but apparently has a higher chance of removing extreme kink and explicit furry content
  • E621: human-only is not allowed (except for pages from furry-centric comics), lolisho is not allowed (cub seems okay?)
It feels quiet here, it would be nice to have more users, whether they draw or just share others’ art.

Yeah, I noticed the Pixiv thing too, though I chose not to bother Pup, as they seem to be quite busy otherwise. I think the animation thing is because animations on Pixiv are literally not animation files, but instead separate images for each frame with a JavaScript cycling them.
A useful trick is to copy the image (not save, literally right-click → copy image), because you can then paste it directly into https://saucenao.com/ and use it to check whether the image has been uploaded to e621/rule34, and then possibly upload from there instead.

Today I tried fetching some art from Pixiv, but it didn’t work despite it’s written that it should, so I had to save it to my PC and upload it from there.
I also found an animation I thought I’d repost, but Pixiv doesn’t provide any means to download animations. When I try to save it via right mouse click like I do with static images, it just… becomes static. I found some Chrome extension (I normally use Firefox), which allows to save GIFs and WEBMs, and it works, but I ran into another problem. While in Firefox the animation looks fine, in Chrome it’s too dark, and it remains like this even when I save it to my PC. I looked through the artist’s gallery and it was the only animation affected by this glitch.

Regarding orgasm and orgasm face - is it even possible to tell a character is having an orgasm without seeing their face?

I never heard the terms “andromorph” and “gynomorph” before looking through E621’s tags.
I’m against “trans male” and “trans female” because yes, these mean gender identities, while Boorus follow the principle of “tag what you SEE”. E621 has tags for trans characters, but they have “lore” added to them, and they prioritise “andromorph” and “gynomorph” over trans tags.

I’m going to keep my opinion quiet on this as it’s not that strong, and I’m curious what others may think. Aliasing clothed and clothing can be un-aliased it’s just I didn’t see any consistency in e621 and other boorus about it.
For further clarification, I think if you could answer these questions, it would help others.
There are some tags that maybe they should be kept or not, such as “collar only” or “chastity cage only” or “underwear only” or “hat only.” I’ve also been known to put “collar only” and nude together. To me, they’re still “nude” even if they’re wearing accessories. Should we keep those * only tags? It gets stupid if you get into “shirt only” or “swimsuit only.” To me, the only tag that should apply is if it’s not actual clothing and they’re still fully exposed.
If a picture is waist up and they’re topless, should it be tagged as topless or nude if you can’t tell if they’re wearing pants or not?
How about ferals, such as Pokémon, as you suggested, be listed? Should a fox be tagged nude if it’s feral? Technically, that is their default state, but there are some ferals that wear clothing.
How would you tag this?

Would this be bottomless, like I tagged, or should it be “cape only” or “skimpy outfit?” I honestly don’t know.
I love that you have joined the team and you can bring your experience from e621. This site needs some OCD tag management.
I don’t know how other people feel, but some tags aren’t needed, such as “bird” then “avian” if you can barely see a bird in the distance. Also, I hate tags like “wall” or “floor” or “tiled wall” like… that doesn’t matter. I’m not sure what you think of that.

At some point, all tags that amount to “partially clothed” were aggressively aliased to “nudity”, making that tag rather less useful, as a lot of characters where no genitals at all are visible ended up in it. On the other hand, all clothes are currently aliased to “clothed”, which may prove to be a problem. What should count as nudity? Here’s a VERY tentative proposal. Pup obviously has final decision!
First: I’m assuming pup is not a fan of “partially clothed”, so this entire discussion assumes an equivalent will not be created

Nudity

Includes:
  • complete nudity
  • Full frontal nudity
    • Tentatively defined as “the genitals are fully exposed, as well as breasts if present, in front view” (e.g. >>4882)
  • Full exposure of the torso, from neck to upper-thighs
    • not nudity of the torso, because I think some transparent/ineffective clothing qualify as nude: >>789
    • for the most part this is equivalent to e621’s “mostly nude”
  • Any outfit that fully exposes the upper chest, genitals and anus
Whatever definition of “nude” is decided, it would be applied to nude/clothed pairs like “clothed man/nude cub” (if such tags are used)
Aliased (possibly restored): mostly nude
Not aliased: bottomless, topless
Not implied: skimpy
Question: Should bottomless and topless imply “nudity”?
Question: Should “Full frontal nudity” and “mostly nude” be tags at all?
Question: Should there be a tag for characters whose nudity is not merely casual but normal, like digimon and pokemon?
#Clothed
Personally, I would alias or imply all tags about partial nudity to “clothed”, not “nudity”.
However, unless we expect future users to know about “discarded *” tags, I believe clothing item tags should not alias to “clothed”.
Implied by: Skimpy, bottomless, topless, mostly nude (if restored), undressing
Question: Should partial nudity tags other than “mostly nude” alias to “clothed” or to something like “invalid tag”?

Why the change? More inclusive name and branding and allows more type of art.
There’s been people who thought we only allow male art or we only allow cub art, which isn’t true. We have always been a place for cute furry art be it cub, babyfur, femboy, chibi, feral, and more. Even if you don’t draw cub art but accused of it, you’re welcome here.
But what is cubfur.art? This is our CDN where the images are stored. I have no interest in changing this as one it’s hard and two it’s a good domain.
Cubfur.gay will continue to link to here. Please update your password manager to allow for the cutepa.ws domain.

“gynomorph” is hyper-technical, and that’s what e621 seems to really like these days, extremely scientific, extremely hard to pronounce, words that are not really known or used commonly by the average person – Classic Era e621 was perfectly fine with “Dick-Girl” and “Cuntboi” for years and years, but the Tumblr-ification of the internet caused such “crass, blunt” language to be deemed “Problematic.” But we’re not Tumblr (or E6), and we’re not a science text book… we’re a simple furry porn website whose goal is to explain concepts in the most easy to understand way possible so that you know what it means at a glance. To me “gynomoprh” doesn’t immediately explain what it is… and I would have to go Google it to figure it out.
I’m all for “updating terms” like how Hermaphrodite is no longer used to refer to Intersexed people. But I don’t see any major issues with “Dickgirl” and “Cuntboi” as simple quick descriptions on a furry porn website – you immediately understand what it means without having to google or thumb through a medical / science text book.
I guess if Dgirl and Cboi are too problematic, then “penis_having_female” and “vagina_having_male” could replace them…. and “intersexed” for characters who have mixed (dual) genitalia.

It’s the “splitting hairs” - “over-complication” of stuff that e6 does that kinda makes me scratch my head and ask “why?”
Like for a while they wanted to phase out the term “Cub” and replace it with “young anthro” and “young human” (and they straight up BANNED “young humans” so it’s clear that they let the Purity Spiral / race to please puritans – get out of control). Then they also wanted to get rid of descriptors like “Gay” and “Lesbian” and make them more technical and analytical… but “Gay” to me just describes the TYPE of sex, not really the individual’s specific set in stone orientation – sure, the character themselves could be Bisexual, but the type of sex they’re having, if it’s Male on Male – is gay.

Hey there, I just wanted to apologize:
I was a bit… snippy (though I was mainly trying to be jokey / playful / though not everyone is going to perceive it that way, right?) with my reply to you on here…
And in retrospect I can see how it could come across as a bit callous or rude or dismissive.
I don’t want you to think I am some snobby grouch-bucket like the people I’ve encountered on e621 and various other “less reputable, less friendly” furry websites…
You are welcome here, and your input is valued – just understand that it may not always be implemented in the most quick fashion. I personally have zero understanding of coding at all. I am just a simple Mod.
Also my personal opinion is that I would not want the website to develop a deep hyper-fixation on “minutia” or “splitting hairs” instead of the “bigger picture” and simplicity (concerning tagging and general definitions and nomenclature)… I’ve seen what e621 has turned into over the years, and I would very much hope that we would not go down that road.
I want the vibe here to keep being “relaxed” – like WildCritters was so very long ago.

Also, learn to take a joke – I hate smart phones, I hate that we are all addicted to having them on us at all times – I make a point that when I am going somewhere like the grocery store up the road, I don’t bring the phone, just an old CD Player and some Earbuds. Well first of all, I use a tablet, not a phone. I just prefer things portable. It puts me in a far more comfortable position than on a desktop computer. Do you really expect someone who has had a spinal surgery to have fun sitting on an uncomfortable computer chair for over an hour?
Absolutely hate phones too though, talking to people sucks. Nothing I hate more than talking on the phone.
And no offense, Kitsu-Negi but while you say you’re old, your behavior tells me you act incredibly immature for your age. I kindly request you be a bit more respectful going forward. None of this behavior is necessary at all.
