Here’s the list of category names:
- error (red): invalid/ambiguous tags
- origin (purple, director: (1) and artist: namespaces): Artists and directors
- character (teal): canon characters
- oc (magenta, oc: namespace): original characters
- species (brown): self-explaining
- body-type (grey): the “pairing” tags like adult/cub, plus their component parts (e.g. feral, anthro, boy…), and various related body-shape and age terms (e.g. kid, shota, plantigrade, slender, chubby etc.)
- content-official (yellow): franchises, series, brands, holidays…
- Note that with a few exceptions, unlike e621 we don’t do company-level copyrights. I believe “Disney” is the only significant one (unless you count a couple thematic ones like “mascot” and “holiday”). There’s a couple other tags that may be created or evolve into that but only have one character in them so far (studio ghibli, kelloggs, marvel…).
- content-fanmade (pale pink, series: namespace): fanmade settings and image series that do not require a specific galery order
- spoiler (orange): this is was repurposed as the category for medias/techniques/tools
- rating (blue): there are currently seven rating tags tags:
- “safe” cannot be combined with any other rating tag
- “suggestive”, “nude only”, and “explicit” are sexual ratings, only one of them can be used on an image
- “grimdark”, “grotesque” and “non-con” are (I think) otherwise normal tags assigned to the “rating” category and can be used in any combination together or with sexual ratings (but not with “safe”)
(1) Tags with namespace prefixes are assigned to that category automatically, otherwise, the category must be assigned manually

The category with tags like pokemon, paw patrol, undertale, the lion king, my little pony, etc… I tried searching on the Tags page with category:franchise, category:series, category:copyright, category:origin (which I found is the purple category mainly for artist and director tags), and I ran out of ideas.

Default search
If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
