I discovered this site after someone told me about it on Inkbunny. I already knew about several Philomena based Boorus (all except Furbooru were for MLP though), and I did a bit of tagging on Derpibooru, so I already had partial idea on how to use this site, but I’m still trying to grasp the age rating criterias (sorry if I said something silly in a report). Out of different Booru formats I’ve seen, I think Philomena is the best, but I don’t have either website making knowledge or stable income. There was a point where I hosted a couple of Boorus on booru.plus, but it’s gone without a trace and I never had a chance to make a Booru for free again. I’ve seen a few Boorus that were shut down and one seemingly abandoned by its only dev.
I know this site is new, but I think it has potential, and it has advantages over other platforms. What issues I have with those:
  • Pixiv: genitals and penetrations must be censored, linking to uncensored content is not allowed (guess how I got suspended there…)
  • Inkbunny: human porn is not allowed (if you completely censor the human sensitive body parts/penetrations it seems to pass)
  • Baraag, Aethy: they are lenient, but very uncomfortable to use if you look for art, the format is not finetuned for image browsing; Media pages on Baraag are basically walls of spoilers (I understand why it’s like this, but without an account it’s just annoying)
  • X: bad format like Baraag and Aethy, not lolisho/cub friendly (I may or may not have had my original account on there suspended because I didn’t think a short slender cartoon man would be considered shota… or maybe I wrestled with a VPN for way too long, I don’t know to this day)
  • DeviantArt: porn is not allowed
  • FurAffinity: lolisho/cub is not allowed
  • Tumblr: porn is not allowed, the users tend to be puritan and of the “fiction = reality” mindset
  • Rule 34 XXX, Rule 34 Paheal: lolisho is not allowed (cubs are ok)
  • Danbooru: doesn’t prohibit but apparently has a higher chance of removing extreme kink and explicit furry content
  • E621: human-only is not allowed (except for pages from furry-centric comics), lolisho is not allowed (cub seems okay?)
It feels quiet here, it would be nice to have more users, whether they draw or just share others’ art.

Honestly, I agree that most notably cub/chibi/child/boy/girl/shota/loli tagset basically is completely redundant to each others in practical use (like, “child” is aliased to “young”, so I can’t even use adult/cub to mean “cub-as-defined-here” because there’s also a completely different set of tags for man/boy etc.), but I’m reliant on Pup for any final decision on how to do tags and that’s what I gotta go with (e.g. his hardline stance that pokemon and digimon should absolutely not be tagged with any general species tags). I do wish he’s take the time to try and clarify what the general tagging policy is (my rule of thumb has been “tag what’s central, respect formal lore, be general otherwise, don’t cross-pollinate between tags”)

I’ve noticed the lack of transparency on what tags are considered unwanted. I tag “simple background” on a bunch of images, then I find it removed on another.
At least I haven’t run into stuff like “crappy art” and “op is trying to start shit” (hello, Derpibooru).

The answer is mostly a mixture of “we need to properly establish policy and right this moment the site owner isn’t around enough for that” and “we’re only fuckin’ humans, okay?”
And also do you have any idea how much work cleaning up the e621 senseless hyperactive tagging actually is? We can’t just ban or alias all the high-order tags we don’t like such as, say “electronics” or “furniture”, because there are pics where such tags are relevant (though not that many), but we otherwise don’t want them on every gotdam pic with a random television or a cell phone in it, and there lies the problem (similarly with tags for the basic body parts like “fingers” or “genitals”).

Fair enough… I also agree on the “Zootopia poster in the background” thing. I look up a mostly dormant franchise tag on another website, and when I saw there was something new, it was a drawing of a random woman with huge boobs where a character from the said franchise is used merely as a decoration. Or I looked up another franchise, and the characters from that franchise were used as a print for an anime girl’s panties. I was just like “you gotta be kidding”.
Since I found something on Rule 34 Paheal that got accepted here: that site has the opposite problem. Their tagging is barebones, often including only franchises, characters and artists, which makes the search for “desirable” art more difficult.

That’s because when it started (I was there, Gandalf), it literally only used those tags and those only. And they started tagging more basically much later, and only because the pressure of e621’s growing influence. I have no idea what the actual tagging policy is over there nowadays.
That being said, technically the minimum amount of tags on e621 is, like, 10? Because the mods only really care about the the tags being present being accurate, you’d be surprised what people forget/omit to actually tag.

I noticed my director tag is now listed in my profile even though I never requested its verification, which surprised me, but OK.
I also noticed that if one browses the Recent Artwork section in my profile, it returns results for both the artist and the director tags. I knew about the || / OR thing, but I never thought this was technically possible.

The Tag Guidelines REALLY need to be revised. For the most part they’re just copied from Furbooru, but things here don’t work the same way. I can’t distinguish between Nude Only and Explicit when there are naked characters with no sexual activity. Grotesque turns out to be broader than it’s defined. Grimdark is left open to interpretation.

I agree the guidelines could stand to be more specific (and it is a major point I intend to bring up to pup if and when he reappears). My approach is for the most part, tag with “nude only” for casual nudity and stuff like accidental/innocent exposures or peeks etc. If there’s anything else besides the nudity/erection that would otherwise prevent a safe rating (e.g. precum, ogling, blatant bedroom eyes, a direct offer/invitation for sex, discarded sex toys, off-screen sex happening etc.), tag with explicit.
Grotesque turns out to be broader than it’s defined.
Admittedly I’ve thrown a few things in there that I maybe shouldn’t have:
  • I’ve reversed on soiled diapers (though I’ll ask Pup to properly rule on that)
  • I have added cock vore, but it turns out there was some of it before (I thought there wasn’t, yes I’m a dumbass) and it wasn’t tagged, so I’ll reverse on that too, even though I think it should be in there.
Ultimately, IMO, it’d be less work to have an overarching “body waste” tag that anyone can filter off easily rather than use this awkward and vague term
Grimdark is left open to interpretation.
Hell, it’s awfully vague everywhere else as far as I can tell. Again, I’d rather have a tag called “gore and body horror” rather than this stuff, which for all I know would encompass suicidal thoughts or fascist imagery! Note that candy gore is pretty clearly not grimdark, but should probably be encompassed by something.

You reversed on diapers in general. Used diapers definitely fall under Grotesque for obvious reasons.
I just hope there won’t be any more staff-made rating tag conflicts that would cripple regular users.

Rant / vent / rambling on Worms in the furry fandom context
This website claims to be a community, but in reality it’s 4-5 people at most who ever communicate. Who needs a fancy gallery layout, tags and an advanced blacklist system? A claustrophobic group chat on a Russian platform that’s at risk of being deleted any day by puritan staff is SO MUCH BETTER!.. This site somehow needs to be promoted to the furry fandom, but I’m not sure how, personally I don’t want to talk to strangers for this purpose.
The staff situation looks bad, though it could be way worse (looking at you, Buzzly.Art in 2022). Let’s see… The only staff members I’ve seen talking or doing anything since I joined were Dillocircus and Mavy. Dillocircus regularly adds content, and he usually took initiative and chose categories for tags without me even having to ask, but he has now been demoted (I wonder if it’s because of some of his decisions). I had a private conversation with Mavy. That’s it. I don’t know who is still around to handle tag categories, implications and aliases. I’m thinking about altering one of my DNP entries to be less strict, but this is bad timing… I also find it questionable that Dillocircus asked me not to post any more human lоlishо, but keeps posting it himself.
Recently, the whole site went down for a few days. Me and Dillocircus seem to be the only people who noticed and neither of us know what happened. Nobody in the Telegram group chat gave a flying fuck about the actual website going down even when I spoke about it.
There used to be a free and easy to use website where you could make your own Booru - booru.plus. I had 2 Boorus on there, which I put a lot of time and effort into, only for the owner to shut down the whole site one day, and it never came back since… I made 800+ submissions here, June flew by to me, so how do you think I felt when this site went down for longer than a day and the people I expected to care just ignored the situation?
I noticed some art/AI images of mine were removed. I don’t know who did it and - more importantly - why. E621 took down one of my submissions for a false reason but I could see the reason nonetheless, ATF also gave a reason for “deleting” a submission (IDK what “deleting” means there because I found “deleted” images from as far as 3 years ago). The first furry booru where I shared Worms art (not mine) was E621, that’s when I realised how cold the furry community’s reception of Worms art truly is. I thought it may be because they have no fur, but neither do sharks, most dragons, etc… Perhaps I don’t understand “femboy” as the staff here would define it, and some characters I posted looked more like mere crossdressers than something that could pass as a woman. Perhaps on-model Worms don’t fit any anatomical category as their bodies appear feral but they have floating hands with clear thumbs. If this is about Worms being (arguably) cute but not being cubs - the same can be said for many other characters, particularly small Pokemon species. If anthrofied worms come off as close to humanoid, I can stop posting them, but I thought making them anthro would amplify the “cub” aspect. I don’t think the pictures I posted fell under “beginner/low quality art”, but if the staff have something against basic character designs, I’d like it to be said and not assume it. If the staff think Worms are not cute and therefore are not a good pick for this site by default, I’d like it to be said as well.
