Description

Eros

Ever since I drew the four Greek gods I did awhile back, I’ve been wanting to do more. Finally, I got another one done. This being Eros, I had strongly considered doing him nude, but I kinda want to keep the gods more general audience. Still, I couldn’t resist having him show off a little. C’mon, this is the god the word ‘erotic’ came from… 🙂

He looks pretty young, right? I would say early to mid teenager. Looking into mythology of Eros, he was often depicted as a boy just past puberty. Greek culture idolized young boys, seeing them as the highest symbol of beauty. Women? They were to grow the population. Often a man would take a young boy to be his apprentice and teach him in the ways of astrology, math, literature, and sexual pleasures. They never wanted to hurt the boys so they would rub their penis between the boys thighs, making sure the young boy was comfortable.
As you may know, Plato was Socrates apprentice. What isn’t as well known is Plato served as Socrates young friend, offering his thighs and likely later his ass to his mentor.
Sadly, in those times, being a bottom was looked down upon and selling yourself for sex? Atrocious! The solution was men in high standing would seek out young boys and offer them schooling, military promotion, or advancement in government (Take that lobbying!!)
So what is a young poor boy to do to make it in the world? Be as girly as possible. Young teens would try to be as effeminate as they could, competing against each other. Being masculine wasn’t going to land you a high ranked education or job. In fact, the masculine boys were often teased by their more feminine peers! What a flip that is from modern society.
Frank really captured Eros and Greek culture here. His thin frame, soft fur, and effeminate hair… He is truly the height of sexual desire.
