The whole idea of having a flashback scene has been a hard choice for me. On one hand, it helps tell more about a character. On the other, it can needlessly stretch out a story. A lot of people have been asking me, “When do we get to the action??” And I can understand the frustration. It’s been like four months and we haven’t knotted anyone yet. But, in the end, it’s my story. And the main idea behind it has been plausibility. Teenage boys, there’s nothing really to explain as to why THEY would want to get laid. With Taylor, however, I want to show where her curiosity stems from; why she didn’t immediately rat them out or dismiss it as gross.
